Import from Todoist

Bring your Todoist projects and open tasks across, with a preview first.

Handled copies your Todoist projects and open tasks in. It is a one-way copy — nothing is changed or removed in Todoist, so you can try it without committing.

Connect

  1. 1In Todoist, open Settings → Integrations → Developer and copy your API token.
  2. 2In Handled, open Settings → Connections → Tasks → Todoist and paste it.

Preview, then confirm

Every import starts as a dry run that writes nothing. You see exactly what would come across and how each item is classified — new, duplicate, or updated — and only then confirm. If you change your mind, nothing has happened yet.

What comes across

  • Projects, as Handled projects
  • Open tasks, with their title, description, and due date
  • The project each task belonged to

What does not, yet

  • Priority flags — imported tasks arrive with no priority set
  • Labels
  • Completed tasks, comments, and attachments
  • Recurring rules — a repeating task arrives as its next single occurrence

Running the import again is safe. Items keep a stable identity tied to their Todoist id, so a second run updates what changed instead of creating a second copy.
