Creating and organizing tasks

Add tasks, give them dates and subtasks, and keep them in folders that make sense.

A task in Handled starts as a line of text. Everything else is optional.

Add a task

  1. 1Tap the add button on Today or Tasks — or press your quick-add hotkey from anywhere on Mac.
  2. 2Type what needs doing and confirm.
  3. 3Optionally add a date, a time, subtasks, or a note.

Give it structure

  • Dates and times put the task on your day, and on the calendar grid if you give it a time
  • Subtasks break a large item into steps you can tick off individually
  • Notes attach the context — a link, a decision, a paragraph you do not want to lose
  • Folders group tasks by project, area, or however you already think

Staying on top of them

Anything overdue keeps resurfacing on Today rather than sliding out of view. When a task no longer matters, complete it or delete it — do not let it rot at the bottom of a list.
