Capture with the quick-add hotkey
A keyboard shortcut on Mac that captures a task from whatever app you are in.
The fastest way to capture something on a Mac is to never leave what you are doing. Quick-add puts a small input on screen from any app, takes your task, and disappears.
Use it
- 1Press the quick-add shortcut from any app.
- 2Type the task. Include a date in plain language if you want one.
- 3Press Return. The window closes and you are back where you were.
Change the shortcut
Open Settings → Quick add on Mac to set a different key combination, in case the default collides with something else you use.
On iPhone and iPad, the equivalent is the add button on Today, the Handled widget on your Home Screen, or the Share sheet from another app.
